Jessica Karrat Dance Scholarship Fund

Jessica Karat Dance Scholarship Fund is given in the memory of Jessica Karat who herself was a passionate dancer and always dreamt of becoming a professional dancer. But she could not fulfill her dream as fate had in stored something else for her.

But through this fund several would fulfill their dreams of becoming professional dancer and that would be a real tribute to Jessica Karrat. It does not matter what dance form you are passionate about, the scholarship is given to all dance forms.

Through this fund the organization aims at furthering the dance education or to create careers as professional choreographers and dancers.

It is a merit based scholarship and is awarded $ 500 to rightful candidate. The applicant must be U.S citizen or permanent resident of U.S. The application for the scholarship is available on the website: http://www.jkdance.org/apply.html .  Along with the application the applicant needs to submit following documents:

  • Essay on “Why I Love Dance”
  • Outline of the proposed training, value to your development as a dancer along with the cost of the program
  • Recommendation letters (teachers, parents, relatives, community leaders or representative)
  • Supporting materials –pictures, videos or award certificates
