Every year Starfleet Academy offers monetary help to in the form of scholarship to special active Starfleet members who are attending community colleges, four year colleges, most technical schools, junior colleges and universities or graduate school.

The scholarship will be awarded to students studying in different fields: medicine, veterinary medicine, teaching, writing, law enforcement, engineering, acting, dance, music, foreign languages, international studies, business and management. Students from community colleges, technical schools, four-year colleges and graduate schools can apply for this scholarship.

The scholarships offered by Starfleet Academy:

DeForest Kelley/Dr. Leonard McCoy Medical Scholarship: for medical studies, nursing school, physical therapy, pre-medical, EMT-Paramedic , surgical technician & biomedical technician

James Doohan/Montgomery Scott Engineering Scholarship:  covers any field related to engineering

Patrick Stewart Scholarship for the Performing Arts: for students in acting, dance, music or skills and training related media

George Takei International Studies Scholarship: for foreign languages or studying abroad

Armin Shimmerman Scholarship for Profitable Business: for business and management studies

Marina Sirtis Veterinary Science Scholarship: veterinary medicine and related fields

LeVar Burton Educational Scholarship: for those who want to be teachers

Gene Roddenberry Memorial Scholarship for Aspiring Writers: for writers

Space Explorers’ Memorial Scholarship: applies for all course of studies

The Law & Order Scholarship: For Law Enforcement

The scholarship amount is $ 500 each. The application is given on the website: http://academy.sfi.org/student/scholarship.shtml.  The deadline for the submission of the application is July 1, 2010.
